I know that God forgives me, but I can’t forgive myself, I wish that I could just forget, before I lose my mental health, The things I’ve done I shouldn’t have, just won’t leave me alone, And how would you react to them, if you could only know, These thoughts, they weigh in on my mind, I think about them all the time, I’m not worthy to be here with you, Because you don’t know all the truth, Do you ever feel like no one really knows you? Your life’s a show, your true self never shines through? If you don’t, then know that sometimes I do, And I would never really lie to you, But, sometimes I hide it all inside, Keep it away, behind my pride, You don’t know how much I’ve tried, To let someone know, I say I’m fine, but that’s a lie, Don’t even ask, I’m not alright, You don’t know how much I’ve tried, Just to let go. I may be better than some, but I’m worse than most, As for perfect, I’m not even close, I pray to let you know someday, That I’ve made quite a few mistakes, I’m not any better than anyone, Sometimes I lose sight of the Son, My walk with God is not always close, Some mistakes I’ve made He alone knows, Do you ever feel like no one really knows you? For how much it hurts, it’s not physical, This pain is here, though, scarring my soul, I feel it welling up inside, Feel like it’s eating me alive, No matter how much I try, I feel like I am living a lie, I am the world’s biggest hypocrite, Did you ever even know it?
